The all-new Kia Sorento has won 2021 Carbuyer’s ‘Overall Car of the Year’ and ‘Best Large Family Car’ and What Car? ‘Large SUV of the Year’ with luxury and space being its top features. The Sorento was also praised for its fuel economy, driving dynamics and well equipped interior.
With seven-seats and tonnes of luggage capacity, Sorento is the perfect car for families. With four-wheel drive as standard, it’s also ready for whatever action is thrown at it and perfect for muddy trips.
"The Sorento's hybrid tech combines good real-world fuel economy with comparatively low CO2 emissions, while the ride is comfortable and the steering accurate. Throw in a nicely made and well-equipped interior, a driving position that’s lofty enough to make HGV drivers jealous and Kia’s unmatched seven-year warranty, and the Sorento is an outstanding all-rounder," said Steve Huntingford, Editor of What Car? Magazine.
Dependent on grade, new features include Terrain Mode to assist in challenging road conditions as well as a Blind-Spot View Monitor, which displays a live video feed into the instrument cluster when changing lanes to see another vehicle hidden in blind spots. The car is brimming with technology – from large high-definition touch screens, to a comprehensive range of advanced safety features. All of which help make driving safe and pleasurable
The all-new Kia Sorento SUV has been awarded the highest-possible safety rating by Euro NCAP. The entire Sorento line-up, including the Plug-in Hybrid, achieved the maximum five-star rating from Europe’s leading independent safety testing organisation.
- All three Sorento models – Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and diesel – benefit from Advanced High Strength Steel bodies.
- Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management and seven airbags as standard.
The Sorento is available with a 2.2 diesel engine (in '3' spec only) but also comes with a self-charging hybrid powertrain that pairs a turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine with Kia’s advanced hybrid system – so you get performance and efficiency in equal measure. A Plug-in Hybrid version, another first for the Sorento, is also available.
