Stylish. Sporty. Inspiring. The new SEAT Tarraco is a seven-seat SUV designed to combine great looks and practicality. With Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) systems offering a variety of driving modes, it is also packed with technology including a 10.25" digital cockpit and a floating 8" touchscreen display. The cabin is neatly designed and easy to live with, while the long list of equipment includes an excellent infotainment system that responds quickly and has solid smartphone connectivity. The huge 700-litre boot that you get when you fold the third row down into the floor is very useful, and the load bay is nice and flat, boosting versatility. The Tarraco is also smooth on long runs and fun on twisting roads, while it packs a versatile range of engines, making it a well-priced do-it-all SUV.
The Tarraco was singled out by Auto Express for offering an unrivalled driving experience alongside its strong dynamic design and generous level of equipment and advanced technology. Steve Fowler, Editor-in-chief at Auto Express, said: "If you’ve got a growing family and need a seven-seat car, these days it’s an SUV you’ll be looking at, rather than a conventional MPV and the SEAT Tarraco is yet again the best large SUV on sale. SEAT has broadened the range with even more engine and trim combinations, but every combination offers the same appealing blend of attributes that made this seven-seat SUV a success in our 2019 awards. With even more choice for buyers, it’s now an even stronger proposition in 2020."
The Tarraco has also won two prizes at Parkers’ New Car Awards for 2021, 'best large family car' and 'best seven-seater'.
In the large family car category, the Tarraco was praised for its on-road performance, looks and value for money. Keith Adams, editor of Parkers.co.uk, said: "Fresh from its trim and spec updates for 2020, the SEAT Tarraco has emerged as the large SUV to buy if you're looking for an unbeatable combination of good value, keen dynamics and smart styling.
"We love the way SEAT has tuned the Tarraco's steering and suspension to make this large SUV handle and drive like a smaller, sportier car. It's also stylish inside and out. Where the Tarraco really excels, however, is with its low prices and excellent finance, which put this substantial car within the reach of so many families."
It was also unbeatable in the seven-seat class, with the Tarraco picked especially for how it compares to its rivals for costs. Keith Adams added: "The surprisingly affordable SEAT Tarraco clinches this award thanks to its great-value finance, generous equipment and overall value for money.
"But don't think that this is a car recommended on purely rational grounds – the Tarraco is excellent to drive, with keen steering and handling, and sprightly performance from the more powerful models in the range. So, it's a decent SUV, but it's also a highly competent seven-seater – while costing significantly less than its full-sized rivals."
