The Electric Car Grant is a UK Government grant to promote the purchase of certain new electric vehicles. The grant is not exclusive to Kia UK Limited. A Government Electric Car Grant of £1,500 is available on the Kia EV2 First Edition, Kia EV3 Air, Kia EV3 GT-Line, Kia EV4 Air, Kia EV4 Motion, and on all derivates of Kia PV5 Passenger and is deducted from the 'on the road' (OTR) price. EV2:
The Electric Car Grant is a UK Government grant to promote the purchase of certain new electric vehicles. The Kia EV2 First Edition now qualifies for Tier 2 of the Electric Car Grant, receiving £1,500 off the purchase price through the Government grant. Alternative derivatives of the Kia EV2 model are currently pending eligibility approval for this scheme. If these derivatives are approved and included in the scheme, then customers purchasing a qualifying derivative will receive £3,750 off the purchase price through the Government grant. If these derivatives do not become eligible for the Electric Car Grant, then Kia will ensure through the Kia EV2 Reservation Saving that qualifying customers purchasing the Kia EV2 will receive the relevant equivalent discount on the purchase price, namely £3,750 reservation saving available on EV2 Air, GT-Line and GT-Line S. The relevant saving will be automatically applied to the on-the-road price on the retail invoice for your vehicle. The Kia EV2 Reservation Saving is available by making a nonbinding reservation of a new Kia EV2 in the United Kingdom between 01.04.2026 and 30.06.2026. Retail Sales only. (1) Maximum charging speed
The charging speed and charging time depend on different factors including the current state of charge of the battery, battery temperature and the charger used. It is also defined by the individual driving style and energy consumption.
(2) Driving Range
The EV4 has a range of up to 388 miles. The PV5 Passenger has a range of up to 256 miles. The Kia EV2 has a range of up to 281 miles. The range was determined according to the standardised EU measurement procedure (WLTP). The individual driving style and other factors, such as speed, outside temperature, topography and the use of electricity-consuming devices/units, have an influence on the real-life range and can possibly reduce it.
Warranty
Kia high voltage lithium ion battery-units in electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) are built to have a long life. These batteries are covered by the Kia warranty for a period of 7 years from initial registration or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first (8 years/100,000 miles for EV models registered from 01/01/2024). For low voltage batteries (48V and 12V) in mild-hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV), the Kia warranty covers a period of 2 years from initial registration regardless of mileage. For EVs and PHEVs only, Kia guarantees a 70% capacity of the battery. Capacity reduction for the battery in HEV and MHEV is not covered by the warranty.
